Anthony Fasano – Hopatcong High School Graduate – 2012
“I moved to Hopatcong in 1999 just in time to start kindergarten. My parents believed that I would have the best opportunity at a successful future if I received my education from Hopatcong Borough Schools. By the time I graduated from Hopatcong High School in 2012, I was senior class president, a member of the National Honor Society, a three year varsity football and tennis player and I was involved in a total of eighteen clubs and organizations. I loved every second of my experience at Hopatcong Schools.
I am currently a senior at Montclair State University, majoring in Business Administration with concentrations in Management and Marketing. I am a Dean’s List student and former Student Government Association Legislator and Chief of Staff. I was elected by the student body to serve on the Montclair State University Board of Trustees where I work with the university to set curriculum, tuition and fees, oversee facility projects, set long-term goals and oversee the general supervision of the university with my fellow board members. I am the only student who votes on the board as I proudly represent all 20,000+ students in my decisions. Montclair State University is growing and is making a significant positive impact on the future of New Jersey and I couldn’t be any prouder to be a part of that.
My education, both at Hopatcong and Montclair State, has given me the tools to go out into the world and be myself. I work as a National Account Executive for a small business-to-business service marketing company in Florham Park. I was able to join the Leadership Council at one of the largest charitable organizations in Sussex County, Project Self Sufficiency. And this year, I was elected by the majority of my fellow board members as President of the Hopatcong Board of Education, where I proudly work to enhance and promote student achievement at the same educational institution that made me the person I am today.”
